So anyway. On a lark one night, I e-submitted a story to this new online magazine, Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show. I finally got a response, in the form of:

Man, that has to be one of the most impersonal, unhelpful rejections I've seen in ages. Probably an automated script. I really didn't feel like there was any sort of humanizing, personal touch (like, say, a name). Nothing to indicate they ever saw or read my story. Nothing to indicate they noticed I was there. That's disappointing. I don't ask for much out of my rejections, just a little something to suggest there's a person on the other end. Meh.

Actually, looking around the site (http://www.intergalacticmedicineshow.com/), it's pretty hard to tell who's running the show at all. Anyone know anything about this? They have columns and stories, but who the heck's in charge? Or is it a bizarre collective known simply as "The Editors"? The mind wonders...
