Keeping it short because, well, frozen.
We had lunch at Mother's again. More po'boys, this time solely debris (the bits of the roast beef which fall off into the gravy while cooking.)
After lunch, I went for a walk. A long walk, up and down in the French Quarter, especially along Bourbon Street to admire the architecture and sights. Listened to music, dodged drunk people, hunted sweatshirts. Oh, bought a hat. A nice wool Indiana Jones style hat from the city's only hattery. It is awesome. I needed it because it was raining. And because I really wanted a stylin' hat.

After that, I came back, and we went out to catch one of the first Mardi Gras parades, Oshun... it was COLD and RAINY and we got soaked and frozen to the bone, and I felt even worse for the people down there walking and riding... we clapped extra hard and cheered for them. Those poor high school students looked like soggy kittens and drowned rats but they were marching like they meant it. And we got beads and stuff flung at us like there was no tomorrow. I swear they used my head as a ring toss. We ended up with over a hundred strands, and assorted other items.

Then we went back to the room for hot showers and room service to warm up.

Yup, it was a day. I'm totally, absolutely digging New Orleans and the French Quarter.
