... converting cassettes into digital. I'm rescuing/reclaiming/preserving all of my old audiobooks, thanks to a widget which allows my tape player and computer to talk to one another, and software which cleans it up, trims it, joins the wav files, and converts them to MP3. It's all quite fascinating. I'm so glad I don't have to buy some of these again. And heck, some of the ones I really like never made it onto CD anyway.

Of course, this is a long-term project, since it works in real time, but which of my great ideas aren't long-term? What matters is that eventually, they'll all be on my iPod where they belong, instead of languishing in the garage because tape players are obsolete.

Yay me.
