Friendslist Hivemind!
Dec. 11th, 2009 01:45 pmSo... does anyone happen to have a publicity contact at Simon and Schuster Childrens' Publishing? That covers the imprints of Aladdin, Margaret McElderry, Simon Pulse, and so on. I've been trying to track down a number or email for someone so I can send them review tear sheets and get on their list. I have one phone number that invariably leads me to an answering machine, and after several tries with no return call, I'd like to take a little more direct route.
If there's one thing I've learned as I try to compile my publicist database, it's that book publicists are clearly a sneaky and well-hidden lot.
I'll keep trying, but if anyone happens to know someone, and is willing to put me in touch, I'd appreciate it. After all, it can only benefit us all if I get books to review, review them, and send the revies to the publishers. Unless I snap and write "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" a hundred times and call that a review ... but it hasn't happened yet!
Thanks in advance, folks.
Edited to add: Through cunning and perseverance, I finally found a direct contact at Simon and Schuster. For my next trick, I'll... think of something.
Oh, and if anyone happens to feel like passing on contacts for other publishers, not necessarily YA, feel free. I'll use the power for good. Mostly.
